Gwendolyn DeLaney is an American mezzo-soprano with a passion for art song and contemporary American opera.  Some of her favorite projects so far have been covering  Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel,  performing as the soloist in George Crumb's Madrigals Books I and IV, and singing the role of Une Matelote and being a featured dancer in the historically informed performance of Hippolyte et Aricie by Rameau.  Outside of Cleveland she has appeared in productions of Die Zauberflöte and Le nozze di Figaro. This past summer, she appeared virtually as Petunia in the children's opera Petunia with Spotlight on Opera.
As the founder and artistic director of the Offbeat Song Project, she produces concerts that present classical music in non-traditional venues in non-traditional ways.  Most recently she produced A Queer Cabaret which featured seven LGBTQ+ musicians performing music written by LGBTQ+ composers.
