
A northeast Ohio native, Anna E. White, soprano, is heralded by world-renowned composer
Cecilia McDowall for a voice that is “stunning and poised with grace and beauty of tone.” Anna performs regularly in the Cleveland area, singing as a soloist for outreach events with Cleveland Opera Theater, Blue Water Chamber Orchestra, Opus 216, and Choral Arts Society of Cleveland. She has been a member and soloist within the Cleveland Chamber Choir since its debut season in 2015. Anna has sung several choral works with the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus, where she sang the role of Maidservant in Bach’s St. John’s Passion with the Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall. She performed in the Cleveland Orchestra’s opera chorus for Mozart’s Cosí fan Tutte, alongside the Zurich Opera Company. She sang the title role of Della in David Conte’s opera The Gift of the Magi with Great Lakes Light Opera, now a merger with Cleveland Opera Theater, and debuted with the Akron Symphony Orchestra as Mustard-seed (Faerie One) in Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and returned for Akron Symphony’s concert version of West Side Story. Concert credits include soprano soloist for Vivaldi’s Gloria, Haydn’s Creation, Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, and future engagements including Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Haydn’s Te Deum. In addition to singing in classical venues, Anna has performed across genres at gala events in the Cleveland Museum of Art with new works by composer Cenk Ergün and is the co-creator of the two-woman show Musings of a Singing Mother, debuted in 2019. Anna works at Firestone High School CLE in Akron as a voice teacher for Akron School of the Arts students as well as maintaining a private voice studio at home. Additionally, Anna is working on a degree to become a respiratory therapist to continue aiding people in the technique of breathing. Anna received her bachelor’s degree in vocal performance at Wheaton College Conservatory and resides in Medina, Ohio with her husband and three children.
